Northfield Mount Hermon is a student-centered learning community that opens its doors in the summer to welcome students from across the globe who, like you, want to make the most of their break.

Summer Scholars and English-Language Immersion: Five weeks, June 29 to Aug. 3
Summer Explorers: Three weeks, June 29 to July 20
Summer Enthusiasts: Two weeks, July 21 to Aug. 3

Five weeks

Use the summer to dive deeper into one area of study so you can advance to a higher level during the school year. Try new subjects you would not otherwise have the chance to explore.

Three weeks

Instead of narrowing your focus, how about combining your passions? As an explorer, you’ll be able to try a couple of subjects for a more interdisciplinary approach to summer learning.

Two weeks

Passionate about a specific subject or endeavor? Spend two weeks intensely focused on building your skills, from test-prep to lifeguarding, writing to public speaking, journalism to performing arts.

English Language
Immersion

Five weeks and three weeks

The best — and most enjoyable — way to learn English is to be immersed in the language and the culture.  You’ll be part of a community that wants to learn as much about you as you want to learn about it. You’ll live with, eat with, and explore with our entire community of learners. Our goal is for you to feel at home.

NMH Summer offers lots of options to fit your interests and your schedule.

You can attend as a day student or stay in our campus dorms, with a five-day boarding option for students who want to go home on weekends.

We offer five-, three-, and two-week sessions where you can explore exciting subjects, take part in athletics and arts opportunities, and enjoy fun recreational activities.

  • “I’d like to thank you and everyone at the NMH Summer program. The program was one of the best experiences [I had] when I attended over 20 years ago, and it still remains the best summer program today.”

  • “My advisor was super kind and helpful. She always made time to help me and was there for me when I needed her.”

  • “Our child really enjoyed his time at NMH this summer. He made a lot of great friends, truly enjoyed the teachers, and gained a lot from his classes. This has been such a great experience for him, and I believe it will truly change the way he looks at education going forward.”

  • “[My child] has been raving about the NMH program since she left this summer and has been waiting for the application to open because she wants to attend the program again.”
