The experiences and stories that unfold throughout NMH Summer will last a lifetime! Across our sweeping 1,300-acre campus, students love to stroll our many tree-lined paths, compete on our athletic fields, and pick fruits and flowers from our farm.

We also regularly venture off campus to explore New England, a corner of America rich in history, natural wonders, and unique attractions. Students can sign up for trips that take place on Wednesday afternoons, Saturday afternoons, and Sundays.

The Places We Go

• Six Flags New England to ride roller coasters and more

• UMass Amherst’s Mullins Community Ice Center for ice skating — many for the first time!

• Amherst College’s Beneski Museum of Natural History, with its amazing collection of fossils

• Tour the nearby Five Colleges (Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, Smith, and UMass Amherst), as well as Dartmouth and Williams

• Boston’s Freedom Trail, showcasing many sites of the American Revolution and including Faneuil Hall Marketplace for lunch and the North End for shopping and pastries

• The Mount, the home of noted American author Edith Wharton, and the Emily Dickinson House, where the famous poet lived

• Boston Red Sox and Keene Swamp Bats baseball games

• The Witch Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, which recalls a legendary piece of American history

• Outdoor adventures such as hiking on Mount Monadnock, whitewater rafting, fly fishing, canoeing local lakes, and blueberry picking

• Nearby villages to experience how Americans observe the country’s Independence Day

• The New England Peace Pagoda, a Buddhist stupa

• On campus activities for students to enjoy, like tie dye, cookie decorating, movie nights, karaoke, campfires and much more!
